A star of ‘The Office’ signs for the New Movie ‘Mean Girls’

Regina George and the rest of the ‘Mean Girls’ will return to the big screen singing… And very well accompanied

The legacy of Mean Girls will endure in pop culture for decades, and perhaps that is why they have wanted to bring forward a new version of it in the form of a musical. Having triumphed on Broadway, they will now return to the big screen with a completely new cast. And among its changes, one of the most beloved people of The Office will appear.

The sitcom about the most famous paper company in fiction continues to be successful on social platforms and some of its actresses and actors are at the top of their respective careers.

And it is exactly Jenna Fischer—who was Pam Beesley —the Dunder Mifflin receptionist who captivated audiences with her romance with Jim—is who will be present in this new adaptation, in a role that many fans of the movie will remember. The actress will play Betsy Heron, the mother of the character played by Lindsay Lohan, according to the American media Deadline. In this way, she takes over from Ana Gasteyer —the actress who originally played her in the 2004 film— and joins a cast made up of Reneé Rapp, Angourie Rice, Jaquel Spivey, Auli’i Cravalho, Tim Meadows, Tina Fey, Avantika, Bebe Wood and Christopher Briney.

When will the musical movie be released?

Everything indicates that the streaming platform that hosts the film will be Paramount +. As for the release date, it is still a mystery.

Taking into account that its cast has already been made public, it would not be unusual to have a final result for the end of 2023; which could be extended to the first quarter of 2024. Its production could be very agile, so fans would have delivery much sooner than they could expect. Although to see Regina George singing, any wait is short.
